The incident happened when the daughter of Shri Saroj Goswami went to the temple for darshan with her aunt. The security personnel prevented them from entering the temple, but allowing the others. It resulted in an argument between the security personnel and Goswami family. A lady security guard slapped and pushed the girl which sparked the dispute. When the Goswamis protested the manhandling, other security guards joined to hurl kicks and punches on them.

The Banke Bihari Temple became a battle field again when a lady security guard slapped the daughter of a sevait Goswami.  A video of the incident surfaced in the social media and went viral, in which the security personnel were seen beating the sevait goswamis with punches and kicks. The internal security of Shri Banke Bihari temple is   taken care by Gurgaon based private agency  Group – 4.

While the temple attracts a big number of people every day, the number of devotees increased significantly on the early days of New Year. The inner premises of the temple and the road leading to it was over crowded.

It resulted in an argument between the security personnel and Goswami family.  A lady security guard slapped and pushed the girl which sparked the dispute. When the Goswamis protested the manhandling, other security guards joined to hurl kicks and punches on them. Angered by the unprovoked beating, the Goswamis met the company supervisor Anil Kumar, who also misbehaved with them instead of giving any relief.

The Goswamis then went to see Shri Munish Kumar, the manager of the temple, who was not in the temple at the time of the incident. He was at his camp office at Mohan Bag, situated at the distance of 100 meters from the temple. Shri Munish Kumar then called the Security agency’s Operations Manager Devendra Kumar and enquired about the incident.

Heated argument was exchanged from both the sides. The Goswamis demanded apology in writing and an assurance that such incident will not be repeated again. They also demanded to terminate the accused personnel. The Security company’s Operation manager Devendra gave the apology letter, who was suspended later. The Security agency has also taken against the accused guards and promised to change the entire team with the new set of personnel.

It is not the first time that the security personnel misbehaved with the people. They have been misbehaving with the devotees who come for darshan from distant places. This time they misbehaved with the Goswamis who have inherited the seva of Thakur Shri Banke Bihari,
