Pilgrimage town to benefit from modern postal services
2025.10.13 (Vrindavan Today News): Vrindavan is set to receive a major boost in postal services. Under a new initiative of the Central Government, the Vrindavan Post Office will soon begin offering 24-hour parcel and booking facilities. This will allow both local residents and pilgrims from across India and abroad to access postal services at any time of the day or night.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Mr. Vijendra informed that seven selected districts in Uttar Pradesh have been chosen for this pilot project, and Vrindavan Post Office is among them. He described the decision to keep the Vrindavan Post Office operational round the clock as an administratively significant step, given the continuous inflow of devotees at temples such as Banke Bihari Mandir and other major religious sites.
With the launch of this service, pilgrims will now be able to send speed post and other articles even during late-night or early-morning hours. Preparations for the implementation are already underway, including the arrangement of necessary resources, staff deployment, and development of the required technical infrastructure.
Officials believe that once the 24-hour system becomes operational, the department’s revenue will also see a substantial increase, as the extended service will cater not only to pilgrims but also to businessmen, students, and working professionals.
A few months ago, the operating hours of the Vrindavan Post Office were extended by one hour. Similar extensions were also introduced at Mathura Headquarters, as well as post offices in Raya, Mant, Krishnanagar, Kosi Kalan, Govardhan, and Sadabad.
The new initiative marks another step toward bringing modern, citizen-friendly postal services to the holy town of Vrindavan, ensuring convenience and connectivity for all.
