Yogi Government’s New Year Gift to Braj
December 21, 2025 (Vrindavan Today News): In a significant boost to Braj’s rich cultural ecosystem, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is set to present a major New Year gift to the people of Braj and the region’s artists; a state-of-the-art auditorium being constructed at a cost of over ₹42 crore. Located between Mathura and Vrindavan near the 100-bed hospital, the project aims to preserve, promote, and globally showcase the timeless cultural heritage of Braj.
Being developed at an estimated cost of ₹4,215.60 lakh, the modern auditorium is envisioned as a dedicated cultural hub for Braj’s classical and folk traditions. Once completed, it will serve as a premier venue for performing arts, conferences, and cultural festivals, offering local artists a world-class platform.
Reviving Braj’s Cultural Legacy
Braj is internationally renowned for its unique artistic traditions such as Raslila, Charukula dance, and Dhrupad music. The Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad has taken up this project with the vision not merely to preserve these art forms, but to present them in a contemporary setting to national and global audiences. The auditorium is expected to play a vital role in inspiring younger generations to reconnect with Braj’s living traditions.

1,000-Seat Auditorium and Open-Air Amphitheatre
The main auditorium will have a seating capacity of 1,000 people, making it suitable for large-scale cultural performances, seminars, and national-level events. Complementing this indoor facility will be a beautifully designed open-air amphitheatre, allowing performances under the open sky and adding a distinctive experiential dimension to traditional festivals and celebrations.
Modern Amenities for Artists and Visitors
Beyond performance spaces, the complex is being equipped with comprehensive modern facilities. These include dormitory accommodation for visiting artists, a contemporary canteen for audiences and performers, Type-3 residential units, adequate parking facilities, guard rooms, and robust security arrangements; ensuring comfort, safety, and convenience for all.
Nearing Completion, Inauguration Expected in February
The project is now in its final phase, with nearly 90 percent of the construction work completed. Finishing touches and interior work are currently underway at a rapid pace. According to Suraj Patel, CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, the auditorium is expected to be fully completed and dedicated to the people of Braj by the end of February.
This initiative forms part of the Yogi government’s broader vision to modernize religious and cultural centers across Uttar Pradesh. Visitors to Mathura and Vrindavan will soon experience more than temple darshan —they will be able to immerse themselves in the vibrant, living arts of Braj at this grand cultural centre, marking a new chapter in the region’s cultural renaissance.
