- Sri Radha Raman Temple Issues Advisory Against Fraudulent Online Worship Services in Vrindavan Ahead of Upcoming Festivals
2023.05.01 (Vrindavan Today News): In Vrindavan, an online scam has been uncovered, wherein fraudulent individuals are operating a business in the name of online worship and offerings to the revered self-manifested archaic deities. This illegitimate activity involves collecting money under the pretext of serving the principal Radha Raman deity – one of the seven major temples of Vrindavan. The temple has issued an advisory warning against this fraudulent scheme.
The scam is being carried out through the Utsav app, which claims to offer various categories of donations and offerings for the worship and service of Thakur Shri Radharaman Lal Ji. This scheme has gained momentum in anticipation of the upcoming Mohini Ekadashi on May 1st and Vaishakh Purnima on May 5th.
The app promises that Pandit Ji will recite the name and lineage of the devotee and pray for their prosperous and stress-free life. Additionally, the devotee who avails the service will receive prasad, including laddoos, kachauris, and mathris, along with a picture of Thakur Radharaman Ji. Different offerings are available for different services, such as Chhappan Bhog, Manokamna Puja, Posak Seva, Rajbhog Puja, Abhishek Puja, and Tulsi Seva, with prices ranging from 1201 to 109001 rupees.
The official Facebook page of the temple management has issued an advisory warning the devotees that the Utsav app is not affiliated with the temple and is a private business. The temple management has urged the devotees to be cautious and beware of such fraudulent schemes.
It is important to note that this is not the first case of online scams related to religious offerings. Previously, cases of online sale of Giriraj Shilas and arranging services at the Radharani temple in Barsana have also come to light. The temple management urges the devotees to exercise caution and seek advice from official sources before making any donations or offerings.
