2024.12. 19 (Vrindavan Today News): A significant meeting of the Braj Vrindavan Devalaya Samiti was held in Barsana under the leadership of its President Shri Alok Goswami and Senior Vice President Goswami Shri Krishnanand Bhatt. The gathering brought together prominent Goswamis, Acharyas, and temple priests from various regions of Braj to discuss pressing concerns related to cow protection and the cultural and ecological preservation of the Braj region.
The assembly strongly condemned the violent police action against cow protection activists protesting the discovery of deceased cows in the forests of Dhorera, located between Mathura and Vrindavan. Speakers reminded the audience of Braj’s sacred heritage, where Lord Krishna and Balarama tended their cattle alongside their friends. The committee demanded the immediate withdrawal of all legal charges filed against the protesters, asserting that their actions were rooted in a deep cultural and spiritual commitment to cow protection.
The committee outlined a visionary plan to establish Braj as a global center for cow conservation. Recommendations included:
1. Comprehensive Monitoring in Cow Shelters:
Installation of CCTV cameras in all cow shelters (gaushalas) to ensure proper monitoring of the care and feeding of cows. Cow devotees should also be allowed regular visits to assess the well-being of the animals.
2. Mobile Veterinary Services:
The establishment of modernized mobile veterinary units equipped with X-ray machines, ultrasound devices, and pathology facilities to address the health needs of cows efficiently. Speakers emphasized that transporting cows to distant veterinary colleges is often impractical.
3. Protection of Grazing Lands (Gauchar Bhumi):
A major concern was the lack of available grazing land, which forces cows to remain tethered in confined spaces, likened to imprisonment. The committee demanded the identification, demarcation, and fencing of grazing lands across villages, blocks, and towns in the region.
4. Dignified Burial for Deceased Cattle:
The committee proposed the creation of dedicated cow burial grounds (Gau Samadhi Sthal) in every administrative block to ensure a respectful and dignified farewell for deceased cattle.
The meeting resolved to approach senior government officials and political leaders to address these concerns. The committee also expressed its readiness to seek judicial intervention if necessary to secure the protection of grazing lands and ensure effective cow conservation policies.
The discussions extended beyond cow protection to encompass the preservation of Braj’s unique ecological and cultural heritage, including its sacred hills and water bodies. Detailed deliberations were held to chart actionable steps for their conservation.
The meeting was addressed by prominent speaker, including Shri Alok Goswami, Goswami Shri Krishnanand Bhatt, Shri Yagya Purush Goswami, Shri Krishna Murari Goswami, Gopal Krishna Goswami, Deepak Goswami, Siddharth Shukla, Harishchandra Goswami, Rajat Sharma, Brajesh Shukla, Manish Parikh, Bhagwat Swaroop Sharma, and Nakul Goswami.
This landmark meeting reaffirmed the cultural and spiritual significance of Braj while presenting a comprehensive roadmap for cow protection and ecological conservation. The resolutions adopted reflect the region’s commitment to safeguarding its legacy and setting a global example in sustainable practices and heritage preservation.
