Government Initiatives for Avian Habitat Development
In a significant effort to enhance natural habitats for birds, the Indian government, through the Ministry of Environment and Forests, has designated 251 locations for potential wetlands. Social forestry departments are conducting surveys to assess the wetland possibilities in these areas. If these locations prove to have sufficient water resources and forest assets, they will be officially declared wetlands. Conservation efforts will then be implemented to develop and protect these areas.
