Anger Directed at Journalists Over Reports of FIR Registration
15th December, 2025 (Vrindavan Today News): Aniruddhacharya, a well-known religious storyteller who has often remained in the spotlight more for his controversial statements and on-stage humour than for his discourses, has now targeted the media for reporting news related to him. Agitated over reports regarding the registration of an FIR against him, he vented his frustration by making objectionable remarks against journalists from a public platform.
It may be recalled that Aniruddhacharya had earlier made inappropriate comments from a public stage regarding women’s age and marriage. A video of those remarks went viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage. Several women’s organisations lodged complaints before the Central and State Women’s Commissions. Additionally, women advocates and Meera Rathore, the Agra district president of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, filed a petition in the Mathura CJM court seeking registration of a case against him.

Following the court’s order to register the complaint, the news was published and broadcast by various media organisations. Enraged by these reports, Aniruddhacharya lashed out at the media during a public discourse, even likening journalists to “Manthara” (a character from the epic Ramayana known for manipulation). Video clips of these statements are available on multiple social media platforms operated by him.
Addressing a satsang gathering, Aniruddhacharya claimed that certain media persons had spread false news about an FIR being registered against him. He said that he personally visited the Vrindavan police station to verify the matter and found that “nothing of that sort had happened.” Questioning the media’s intentions, he alleged that some journalists harboured personal enmity against him and deliberately spread false information.
He further remarked that the media had previously declared actor Dharmendra dead while he was still alive, and accused them of opposing Sanatan Dharma rather than targeting him personally. He alleged that despite extensive service activities being carried out at Gauri Gopal Ashram, the media chose to ignore them and instead aimed to malign Sanatan traditions. According to him, the media was instigating conflicts among Hindus themselves and had become a “modern version of Manthara.”
Continuing his tirade, Aniruddhacharya stated that the media had crossed all limits of irresponsibility, could not be trusted, and was driven by money and TRP. While claiming that he was not speaking against the entire media fraternity, he accused certain journalists of being after him and even alleged that “media people can get someone murdered for TRP.” He went on to say that exposing the “truth of the media” was necessary, asserting that their work consisted only of spreading lies from morning to evening.
These statements have further intensified the controversy, raising serious questions about the conduct of a religious storyteller who, instead of exercising restraint, continues to make derogatory remarks against the media—an institution often regarded as a mirror of society. Critics argue that if such language can be used against the press, it is not difficult to imagine similar attacks being directed at others as well.
