2025.08.29 (Vrindavan Today News): The Mathura court has taken a strict stance on the controversy surrounding VIP darshan at the famous Banke Bihari Temple. Acting on a petition filed by Sanjay Haryana, the Civil Judge (Senior Division) has issued notices to the temple manager, the District Magistrate (DM), and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), seeking their response. The next hearing is scheduled for September 26
In his petition, Sanjay Haryana alleged that the rights of ordinary devotees are being violated under the system of VIP darshan. While common devotees stand in long queues for hours to catch a glimpse of Thakur Ji, VIPs are given special privileges. This, he claimed, often leads to mismanagement and creates difficulties for the general public.
Viral Video Submitted as Evidence
The petitioner also presented a video before the court showing an officer carrying a weapon inside the temple premises. He argued that such behavior is against tradition and devotion. Considering the video as serious evidence, the court ordered the authorities and temple management to file a written response.
The Civil Judge (Senior Division) made it clear that the temple is open equally to all devotees, and any form of discrimination or special treatment that hurts religious sentiments cannot be allowed. Therefore, the matter requires a thorough investigation.
The court has directed the DM, SSP, and temple manager to submit a detailed report by September 26. It also emphasized that if the VIP darshan system is found to be harming ordinary devotees, it must be stopped immediately.
