Vrindavan, November 7, 2025: A shocking case of alleged fraud under the guise of gau seva (cow protection) has surfaced in Vrindavan. Atmanand, also known as Aditya Sethi, a devotee of a famed organisation and head of the Vrindavan Street Gau Seva Trust has been accused of large-scale financial irregularities and misuse of donations collected in the name of cow service.
Kavita Satyani, a resident of Gangotri Vaas on the Vrindavan Parikrama Marg, has lodged a complaint alleging that Atmanand exploited people’s religious sentiments to raise donations and used those funds for personal gain, including building private assets.
According to Kavita, she had been working alongside Atmanand in caring for injured and abandoned cows, personally covering the costs of medicines, fodder, and ambulance services. “Later I discovered that he was creating fake bills through shopkeepers and charging double the actual amount in the name of the trust,” she claimed.
She further alleged that Atmanand built a social media image by posting emotional videos of cow rescue operations to attract online donations. “He would show himself treating injured cows, but in reality, expired medicines were being used,” Kavita added.

Kavita also said that when she demanded an account of the donations and tried to expose the truth, Atmanand reacted aggressively. “He abused me, threatened to kill me, and even said he would use AI-generated obscene images to defame me,” she alleged.
The incident once again raises a disturbing question — has gau seva in Vrindavan turned into a profit-making enterprise? Locals point out that several so-called ‘devotees’ and ‘sevak’ are exploiting donors’ faith and turning cow protection into a business model.
Following Kavita’s written complaint, police have registered a case against Atmanand and begun an investigation. Sources said that the police are now scrutinizing the Vrindavan Street Gau Seva Trust’s bank accounts and properties allegedly purchased with donation money.
