2024.02.03 (Vrindavan Today News): If you have wanted to go on a river cruise while making your Braj pilgrimage experience here is something for you. A Catamaran cruises journey is set to commence, marking the initiation of waterway transport on the Yamuna River. The Catamaran reached to the Kandla port in Gujrat via the waterway from Dubai. It is being transported to Mathura on a 50-foot-long truck from the port. The cost of this transportation is estimated to be around eight lakh rupees.
The cruise is not only focused on transportation but also offers a unique experience for travellers. Passengers will have the opportunity to organize parties on board while enjoying catering services during the cruise on the Yamuna River.
The Ayodhya Crusie line has been granted a contract by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP), to operate the cruise. The operation will be conducted on the PPP model, with ticket prices ranging from 300 to 500 rupees. The cruise has a capacity for 130 passengers, with life jackets available for each traveller.
The cruise will run on two vessels equipped with a platform, ensuring a comfortable journey for passengers. Safety measures include the presence of two pilots and six lifeguards. The necessary permissions for the cruise operation have been obtained from various authorities, including the Ministry of Shipping, Mathura-Vrindavan Nagar Nigam, Irrigation Department, Police, Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, and the District Administration.
Atul Kumar Tevatiya, Director, Ayodhya Cruise Lines informed the media, “The journey of the cruise began from Dubai, traversing the water route to Kandla port, where it is being transported by truck to Mathura. The official launch is expected to take place after the completion of all formalities, and the cruise aims to commence its operations within 15 days.”
The cruise line, named “Garuda,” is set to become a significant addition to the tourism offerings in the region.
