- Central Office to spearhead the movement to be established in Vrindavan

2024.02.13 (Vrindavan Today News): Once again, a concerted effort led by saints, scholar, activists and farmers’ unions is being outlined to rid the revered Yamuna River from pollution. The central office for this movement will be inaugurated in Vrindavan on Basant Panchami, February 14.
Popular Saint Shri Ramesh Baba from Maan Mandir, the recipient of Padmashri Award, has spearheaded numerous nationwide movements to cleanse the River Yamuna, but somehow couldn’t be successful in getting it clean.
Despite assurances from the government, the issue of Yamuna pollution has persisted, prompting a renewed resolve among devotees. Various organizations, both domestic and international, including the Vaishnavas from the Vallabh sect, Maan Mandir, and farmers’ unions, scholars and activists have united to initiate a decisive movement for a Pollution free Yamuna.
Shri Sunil Singh, Secretary of the Man Mandir in Barsana, revealed that a mass signature campaign is underway under the leadership of Shri Pankaj Baba across Maharashtra and Gujarat, garnering support from thousands of Yamuna devotees. Additionally, major temples, ashrams, and social organizations in Braj have pledged their written support for the movement. Singh further stated that on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, a principal office will be inaugurated in Vrindavan for Yamuna purification, followed by a grand congregation before Holi, where the final decision will be made in the presence of millions of Yamuna devotees from around the world.
He emphasized that this time; there will be no falling for false assurances or distractions from governments. The sole focus is on achieving pure waters for the Yamuna. The groundwork for this renewed movement has been laid over the past two months, drawing from the extensive efforts undertaken in 2013 and 2015, including the historic marches to Delhi.
