CM Yogi Approves Key Development Projects at BTVP’s Fifth Board Meeting

BTVP’s three flagship initiatives including the development of Braj 84 Kos Parikrama and Mathura-Vrindavan Rail Route as Heritage Highways and the construction of an elevated road connecting the twin towns to Gokul were given a go-ahead along with several others.

Vrindavan, 2022-06-08 (Vrindavan Today News): The fifth board meeting of the UP Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad was held yesterday under the leadership of state chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Following detailed discussions several key projects were approved by the CM who was on his first visit to Mathura-Vrindavan after winning a second term.

Proposal for development of Braj 84 Kos Parikrama and Mathura Vrindavan Rail Route as Heritage Highways and the construction of an elevated road connecting Mathura-Vrindavan to Gokul were granted approval during the meeting. The projects have already been sanctioned by the National Highways Authority of India at the cost of INR5000cr and INR4000cr respectively. The 45 Km elevated road will also connect to NH19 and Yamuna Expressway, shared BTVP vice chairman Shailja Kant Misra. 

Other projects green-lighted by the CM include

  • Development of Rangji Mandir area in Vrindavan under smart city scheme
  • Development of Vasudev Vatika on 12 hectare irrigation department land upstream of Gokul Barrage
  • Jodhpur Jhal, near Parkham (Farah), will be developed as a wetland. It is home to several species of resident and migratory birds
  • Development of Saubhari Van/Kund in Sunrakh
  • Water Museum will be developed on 13 acres of irrigation department land near Kosi. The museum will disseminate information on the importance and methods of water conservation. Regular workshops will also be organised for practical training.
  • Deendayal Museum will be set up at Deendayal Dham in Farah
  • Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) on 2 hectare land in Akbarpur, Jait
  • TFC on planning department’s 1 hectare land in Nandgaon
  • Barsana’s Radhabihari Intercollege land will be used for construction of TFC and multilevel parking

State tourism minister Jaivir Singh, cabinet minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan Singh, MP Hema Malini, MLAs Shrikant Sharma, Puran Prakash, Rajesh Chaudhray, and Meghsyam Singh, Agra commissioner Amit Gupta, Yamuna Authority CEO Dr. Arunveer Singh, BTVP CEO and MVDA vice chairman Nagendra Pratap, and DM Navneet Singh Chahal were among the main officials present at the meeting.
