Mathura on high-alert for December 6; Paramilitary forces moved in from Agra

Mathura, 2021-12-03 (Vrindavan Today News): Mathura is on high alert for the upcoming Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6. The ongoing legal dispute in the Krishna Janmsthan Case has made matters more sensitive this year.

Special paramilitary force has been moved in from Agra to be stationed in and around the yellow zone, beginning Friday evening. Divisional commissioner Amit Gupta and IG Nachiket Jha met with high-ranking police officials in Mathura to ensure implementation of strict and inviolable security measures. DM Navneet Singh Chahal, SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover, SSP (city) Martand Prakash Singh and SSP (security) Anand Kumar were present.

Meanwhile, religious and social organisations have appealed to their respective communities to cooperate with the Police and administration in maintaining law and order in the city.

Hindu groups have withdrawn their pledge of carrying out sankalp yatra and jalabhishek at the Idgah on December 6. The City Moharram Committee has also issued an appeal to the minority community to refrain from performing any such action that would hurt the religious sentiments of other faiths. Committee secretary Mohammad Yunus Ghazi requested people to avoid crowding at the Idgah, and instead offer Friday Namaz at their local mosques
