2026.02.01 (Vrindavan Today News): Shri Nagendra Pratap (IAS) has assumed charge as the Divisional Commissioner of the Agra Division, bringing with him a rich legacy of administrative experience and a visionary approach to heritage-led development. Senior officials, including the outgoing Divisional Commissioner Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, District Magistrate Shri Arvind Mallappa Bangari, Additional Commissioner (Administration) Shri Rajesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner (Judicial) Smt. Manjulata, and the Commissioner’s Personal Assistant Shri Padam Chandra Mishra, extended their congratulations on the occasion. Prior to the formal assumption of office, Shri Nagendra Pratap was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
Nagendra Pratap Singh is a seasoned IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh Cadre (2010 batch promoted from PCS) who has worked in various administrative roles in the Mathura District. A native of Etawah, Shri Nagendra Pratap is widely regarded as one of the key visionaries behind the conceptual and institutional strengthening of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad. During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Parishad, he played a pivotal role in shaping a structured, sustainable, and culturally sensitive framework for the development of Braj’s sacred landscape. His work emphasized the harmonious integration of spiritual heritage, pilgrim amenities, ecological balance, and regional planning, an approach that has since become a reference point for faith-based development initiatives in the state.
He also served as Vice Chairman of the Mathura–Vrindavan Development Authority in two tenures, where his leadership contributed significantly to aligning urban development with the spiritual ethos of the Braj region. Prior to his present assignment, he was posted as Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and later served as District Magistrate of Banda, further strengthening his credentials as a balanced and people-centric administrator.
With his deep understanding of Braj’s spiritual significance and his proven vision for pilgrimage-oriented development, Shri Nagendra Pratap’s appointment as Divisional Commissioner is expected to lend renewed direction to governance, heritage conservation, and integrated development across the Agra Division.
