Organized vending zones to come up at seven locations in Mathura-Vrindavan

These include Chatikara Marg-Vaishno Devi, Prem Mandir, Iskcon Mandir, Rangji Mandir, Birla Mandir, Jubilee Park Mathura and Deeg Gate-Vrindavan Road zones.

Vrindavan, 2022-03-29 (Vrindavan Today Magazine): With a view to further easing traffic and improving the overall aesthetics of the city, seven locations have been identified for setting up dedicated vending zones in Mathura-Vrindavan.

During a meeting held by BTVP officials yesterday, 26 sites under the Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation were identified where unorganized hawkers were posing a problem for traffic management and city planning.  For now, seven of the most prominent and busy sites of these 26 have been enlisted for development of the organised vending zones.

These include Chatikara Marg-Vaishno Devi, Prem Mandir, Iskcon Mandir, Rangji Mandir, Birla Mandir, Jubilee Park Mathura and Deeg Gate-Vrindavan Road.

The proposal for having proper vending zones in Mathura-Vrindavan has been in consideration for several years. Few years back, the Municipal Corporation had even submitted a blueprint for its implementation, but the plan did not materialise for various reasons.  With the pilgrimage towns coming to renewed focus under the government’s smart city scheme it has been revived once again.
