2025.03.30 (Vrindavan Today News): The monthly conference of the Braj Vrindavan Devalaya Samiti (Regd.) was held at the ancient and historic Shri Deergh Vishnu Temple in Mathura, presided over by the organization’s president, Shri Alok Krishna Goswami.
In the presence of Senior Vice President Goswami Krishnanand Bhatt and Vice President Shri Kantanath Chaturvedi, the meeting delved into several pressing matters concerning the conservation, maintenance, and safeguarding of the cultural heritage of the Braj region.
During the discussion, Vice President Shri Kantanath Chaturvedi expressed grave concern over the deteriorating state of Braj’s historic temples. He emphasized the urgent need for substantial measures to restore and preserve these ancient sites. Several members raised a specific demand for the protection and restoration of the Malihari Kund, located near Radhakund.


Goverdhan Coordinator of the organization, Mahant Shri Ram Krishna Das, highlighted the historical significance of Malihari Kund also known as Malhar Kund, citing ancient scriptures that mention its existence. According to the religious texts, Radha Rani herself would gather flowers at this sacred site, which has now become nearly extinct. He stressed the necessity of its conservation to prevent the loss of such an important cultural and religious landmark.
Senior Vice President Goswami Shri Krishnanand Bhatt assured the attendees that official correspondence regarding the matter would be initiated promptly, and organizational members would engage with district-level authorities to advocate for its restoration. He stressed the need to identify such water bodies which are getting extinct and encroached upon by the locals.
The members also discussed the overall condition of ancient temples in Vrindavan, Mathura, Barsana, Nandgaon, Gokul, and Govardhan. Suggestions were put forth regarding beautification, cleanliness, security, and maintaining the sanctity of these religious sites.


Another key point of discussion was the need for both public cooperation and administrative efforts to uphold the sacredness of the temples. The members resolved to formally request the local administration to take necessary steps for ensuring the protection and preservation of these temples.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all members pledged to work collectively towards the conservation of these revered sites and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their efforts in this regard.

The proceedings were conducted by Joint Secretary Jagannath Poddar, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Lal Krishna Chaturvedi.
