Vrindavan, 2020-09-20 (VT): Commemorating the end of this year’s Sanjhi Festival,Vrindavan Research Institute (Raman Reti, Vrindavan) organised a five-day webinar – Sanjhi Samvaad Karyakram – covering various aspects of the art; particularly those associated with Bhagwan Shri Krishna/Devalaya (temple) Sanjhi.
The content generated will be compiled under the institute’s ambitious and extensive five-year project – Yug-Yugeen Krishna; Vyapti aur Sandarbh. Devotees and Braj culture enthusiasts from all across the world will be able to take advantage of it.
VRI director, Satish Chandra Dixit said that the series was organised to cover all major aspects of both ‘devalaya’ (temple) and ‘lok’ (folk) Sanjhi. VRI research and publications in charge Dr. Rajesh Sharma added that Braj Bhasha literature on Sanjhi is an important part of Braj’s heritage. “Apart from rare and ancient manuscripts available with VRI, our endeavour is to collect information about all cultural traditions related to Shri Krishna and Braj, and compile them in easily accessible formats.”

Acharya Vishnu Mohan Nagarch – ‘Musical traditions of temple Sanjhi’
Dr. Indu Rao – ‘Sanjhi in Haryanvi tradition’
Dr. Bhavna Vyas – ‘Sanjhi in Malwa and Nimad’
Sumit Goswami – ‘Temple Sanjhi in various contexts’
Acharya Vibhu Krishna Bhatt – ‘Beginning with Sanjhi ‘
Dr. Brijbhushan Chaturvedi – ‘Literary references for Sanjhi’
The program was broadcast on the Institute’s social media channels for research scholars and Braj culture enthusiasts. The five-day program also included online workshop, and exhibition.
