2025.04.10 (Vrindavan Today News): The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is poised to breathe new life into the sacred landscape of Braj. Echoing the grandeur of initiatives in Ayodhya and Kashi, the government is now charting a transformative path for Mathura and Vrindavan under the ambitious Vision Document 2047. This masterplan aims to reshape the region with the magnificence reminiscent of the Dvapar Yuga—the era in which Lord Krishna is believed to have walked the earth.
At the heart of this transformation is a clear directive: to elevate Braj’s spiritual, cultural, and historical legacy to global prominence through holistic development. The Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) convened a high-level meeting on Wednesday chaired by its Vice-Chairman, Mr. Shailjakant Mishra, to discuss the finer points of this monumental endeavor.
Core Developmental Pillars
The proposals presented at the meeting reflect a multidimensional strategy to integrate religious devotion with world-class infrastructure and cultural rejuvenation:
Banke Bihari Corridor: A central piece of the plan, this corridor will enhance pilgrim experience through improved accessibility and aesthetics around the iconic Banke Bihari temple.

Yamuna Ghats Revamp: Modeled after the Ram ki Paidi in Ayodhya, the Yamuna riverbanks in Vrindavan are set for a grand beautification project, turning them into vibrant spiritual and tourism hubs.
Raya Heritage City: In the Raya region, a heritage city will be developed to preserve and present the cultural ethos of Braj in a contemporary format.
Signature Bridge: A landmark bridge is proposed directly in front of the Banke Bihari temple over the Yamuna, combining functionality with symbolic splendor.
Digital Museum in Vrindavan: A first-of-its-kind digital museum will narrate the rich tales of Krishna’s leelas (divine plays) and Braj’s heritage through immersive technologies.
84-Kos Parikrama Route: The sacred circumambulatory path, encircling the Braj region, will see infrastructure upgrades, including the construction of connecting roads and resting points for pilgrims.
Vrindavan Riverfront Development: Detailed plans are underway to redevelop the riverfront area, with irrigation departments working on the ecological and aesthetic enhancements of riverbanks and ghats.
Bypass and Connectivity Enhancements: A new bypass will link the inner Vrindavan zone to the Yamuna Expressway, facilitating smoother travel. Additionally, a road from Yamuna Expressway to Ahir Ghat and the Vrindavan railway alignment will improve access for both pilgrims and tourists.
Refinement of Other Key Sites: The spiritual centers of Sankul, Farah, Govardhan, Radhakund, and Jait will be interconnected, while Persona’s Rangili Chowk is set for beautification.
Tehra-Vrindavan Road Expansion: Infrastructure around this arterial route will be enhanced for better vehicular and pedestrian flow.
Encroachment-Free Development: District Magistrate Shaili Singh emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan to keep Vrindavan free from encroachments while promoting planned growth.
Strategic Oversight and Administrative Synergy
The meeting also featured presentations on existing and proposed projects, including an expansion of the Bund Development Plan 2041. Nagendra Pratap, ACEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, highlighted the importance of aligning older plans with the emerging vision.

District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh strongly advocated for the extension of the Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority’s jurisdiction, and underscored the urgency of addressing unauthorized constructions that disrupt the region’s sacred ambience.
Expressing disappointment over the absence of key officials from the PWD and Irrigation Department, the DM instructed the attending assistant engineers to ensure their presence in future meetings. “Until Yamuna waters become visible along the parikrama path, the true spiritual essence of the Banke Bihari corridor will remain unrealized,” he asserted, urging for a focused action plan.
A Coordinated Vision for a Sacred Tomorrow
Shyam Bahadur Singh, CEO of the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, presented an overview of the current challenges and progress, placing emphasis on the coordination between departments and the local administration.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders including SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey, Municipal Commissioner Shashank Chaudhary, DFO Rajnikant Mittal, and Secretary of the Development Authority Arvind Dwivedi.
This integrated vision for Braj is not just an infrastructure mission—it is a cultural and spiritual renaissance. By 2047, the land once sanctified by Krishna’s divine footsteps is set to reflect a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. With strategic planning and dedicated leadership, Mathura-Vrindavan could soon emerge as a global spiritual beacon.
