High-Power Committee Formed by Supreme Court Approves Changes on 9 Key Points
2025.09.12 (Vrindavan Today News): A new administrative system is set to be implemented at the popular Shri Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. In a crucial meeting held on Thursday evening, the high-powered committee constituted by the Supreme Court decided upon several reforms to streamline temple management and enhance the safety of devotees.
The committee emphasized three major aspects—extending the darshan timings, introducing live-streaming of darshan, and improving security by assigning responsibilities to trained personnel.
Key Changes Approved:
Extended Darshan Timings: Darshan hours will be increased by three hours in the summer and by two-and-a-half hours in the winter, ensuring that more devotees can have the opportunity to witness the deity.

Live Streaming of Darshan: Devotees worldwide will soon be able to experience Thakurji’s darshan through live-streaming services.
Security by Retired Personnel: Security arrangements will no longer be handled by private guards. Instead, retired soldiers or personnel from paramilitary forces will be assigned to maintain order and discipline.
Temple Audit: The temple premises will undergo an internal audit by a specialized team from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Traffic and Crowd Management: Strict traffic regulations will be enforced in and around the temple premises. Police personnel and security guards will be deployed at sensitive points to prevent congestion.
Emergency Response System: A rapid response mechanism will be developed to prevent stampede-like situations and ensure immediate relief to devotees.
The committee highlighted that these measures will not only make darshan easier and safer but also instill greater confidence among the visiting devotees. Special arrangements will reduce the risk of overcrowding and accidents during festive occasions when the temple witnesses lakhs of pilgrims.
District officials, including the Mathura District Magistrate and senior police authorities, will oversee the implementation of these reforms. The decisions are aimed at ensuring that the sanctity of Shri Banke Bihari Temple remains intact while simultaneously providing a secure and organized experience to the devotees.
