2023.02.21 (Vrindavan Today News): In an effort to provide better facilities to devotees during the Adhikamas, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has instructed the development work of the Braj Chaurasi Kos Bahya (Outer) Parikrama in Mathura. This decision was taken after the officers of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) handed over the survey report of Braj Chaurasi Kos Bahya Parikrama to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a meeting held in Lucknow.
The total circumambulation of Braj Chaurasi Kos is 265 kms, out of which 158 km is in Uttar Pradesh, 71 km in Rajasthan and 37 km in the state of Haryana. Council officials told the Chief Minister that the 71 km stretch in Rajasthan is in good condition, while work should be done on 158 km stretch in Uttar Pradesh and 37 km in Haryana. On this, the Chief Minister ordered the Principal Secretary PWD to start the work on Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama immediately.
The CM said that in view of the upcoming Adhikamaas, only repair work should be done for now and the remaining work should be completed after that adhikmaas.
MP Hema Malini is also actively involved in the development of Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama. On Monday morning, she spoke to Haryana CM Manoharlal Khattar on the phone and briefed him about the development project of Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama. Agreeing on the proposal, the Chief Minister of Haryana immediately gave instructions to the concerned officials. Shortly after this conversation, DM of Palwal called the officials of UPBTVP and requested them to prepare a project report. He said that the part of Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama falling in the state of Haryana will be developed according to the action plan.
The development work for Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama is of great importance as it is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus. The Uttar Pradesh government has allotted a budget of Rs. 100 crore for the development of Braj Chaurasi Kos. With the development work being carried out, it is expected to increase tourism in the region, and help the local economy.
