Claiming that the original murti of Shri Keshav Dev is buried under the steps of Agra’s Begum Sahiba mosque, petitioners’ counsel Mahendra Pratap requested the court to allow another lawsuit in the matter.
Mathura, 2022-05-30 (Vrindavan Today News): The Shri Krishna Janmasthan-Shahi Idgah Case has taken a new turn with a fresh application filed by petitioners’ counsel Mahendra Pratap. In pursuance of the above case no.950, Pratap submitted an application to the civil judge, senior division to obtain permission for filing another case based on the claim that the original murti of Shri Keshav Dev is buried under the steps of Agra’s Begum Sahiba mosque.
After considering the matter the court directed the issuance of a 60-day notice period to the respondents, before returning the application.
The Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Case is intensifying with new petitions being filed in the matter frequently. Late last week advocate Mahendra Pratap submitted an application to the court for filing another petition based on the claim that the original gem-studded idol of Shri Keshav Dev is buried under the steps of Begum Sahiba Masjid built near the Deewan-e-Khas in Agra’s Red Fort. He also produced some historical references to back up his stance, and put forward the case of Hindus whose religious sentiments were hurt by the said act.
The Union of India, director general – ASI New Delhi, superintendent- ASI Agra, and director – ASI Mathura, named as respondents in Pratap’s petition, will be given a 60-day notice period under CrPC 80. While returning the application, the court noted that a case can be filed only after the completion of the same.
Meanwhile, Narayani Sena secretary Manish Yadav also filed three separate applications to the civil judge, senior division last Friday. In addition to requesting a stay that would maintain the status quo in the matter during summer holidays, Yadav pleaded for the recruitment of an associate to assist the senior judicial commissioner on the Idgah survey. He also appealed for the DM, senior police inspector, chief medical officer and adequate number of sanitation workers to be allowed during the survey.
The ‘survey’ here refers to a review of the Shahi Idgah by a court/judicial commission, as requested by Rajendra Maheshwari and others who are among the petitioners in case no.950. ADJ 7th Sanjay Chaudhary has advised daily hearing on the matter if the judgement is not delivered on the date prescribed by the commission i.e. 1 July, 2022.
