Captivating moments: Winter Seva Mahotsava comes to close

2025.01.11 (Vrindavan Today News): Devotees thronged Shri Radharaman temple as the thirty-three days long ‘Winter Seva Mahotsava’ comes to close. It was a captivating moment when the ‘seva’ was handed over on the last day of the festival after the ‘Raj Bhoga’. Devotees turned emotional and tears rolled down from the devotees’ eyes, who attended the festival and voluntarily served the temple for more than a month. The mood was of separation – if Akrura was taking Krishna – Balarama to Mathura.

The ‘Seva Mahotsava’ dedicated to Shri Radharaman by the family of Acharya Shrivatsa Goswami Maharaj is considered as one of the best ‘seva offerings’ by the temple sevayats. From waking up the Lord before the Mangala Arati and till the Lord goes to sleep, the acharyas carefully served the Lord with the utmost devotion. Be it cooking for the Lord, offering the ‘bhoga’ or decorating the Lord, the acharyas performed the seva with emotion and in accordance with the temple’s tradition. The acharyas were always absorbed in the mood of love while serving the most adorable Shri Radharamana.

The Acharyas poured their hearts in the eight-fold service (Ashtayam Seva) of Shri Radharamana by following the rituals strictly. The seva was performed in accordance with the tradition set by Shrila Gopal Bhatt Goswami pada five centuries back.

Many dignitaries including Mathura Member of Parliament Smt. Hema Malini and Shri Nitish Bharadwaj came for darshan of Shri Radharaman and performed the pujan. Several bureaucrats from the district administration and the states visited the temple during the ‘Seva Mahotsava’. Smt. Hema Malini performed the Dehari Pujan at the temple and attended the ‘Raag Seva’.

Shri Neetish Bharadwaj, the actor who played the role of Shri Krishna in the famous Television serial of 80’s visited Shri Radharaman Temple and performed the pujan. He stayed in Vrindavan for three days and had daily darshan of Shri Radharaman and meditated unto His Lotus Feet.

Talking to ‘Vrindavan Today’ Shri Bharadwaj said, “It has been enchanting experience for me to attend the ‘Seva Mahotsava’. The Winter Seva Mahotsava has held a special place in my heart. The very mention of this sacred town fills me with a sense of peace and devotion. I couldn’t help but feel the presence of Shri Krishna.” “Shri Dham Vrindavan has witnessed His playful antics, and his spirit lingers in every corner,” added Neetish.

The closing day also featured a mesmerizing devotional presentation and captivating musical performances, leaving the audience with lasting memories of the festival’s unique blend of traditions and music.
