2023.05.04 (Vrindavan Today News): The surge in the real estate market in Vrindavan and the existence of no regulation on the construction of buildings has encouraged the thugs to buy and sell illegally. They haven’t spared the government land or the flood plains of Yamuna. The Real estate agents lure people on the name of the famous temples of Vrindavan, including Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir and Iskcon. They say that the famous temple are located in the neighborhood of their housing projects.
Recently, a case of cheating people through illegal plotting has come to the light. Some people were selling 15 acres land of Pani Gaon village flood plain, near the Devraha Baba Ghat. The accused company, I&S Buildtech Pvt Ltd, had been promoting residential plots near the Kumbh Mela area of Vrindavan to people in Delhi-NCR through hoardings and social media advertisements. Advance payments were taken from over 400 people by promising them cheap prices and first-come benefits.
On Sunday, the company set up a camp near Devraha Baba Ghat to register the buyers. Hundreds of people from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram arrived at the site and paid Rs 2,100 for registration. However, upon receiving complaints from the people of Vrindavan, the administrative officials, including ADM Mant Indranandan Singh, Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority, Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation, and CO Sadar Praveen Malik, reached the spot. Upon seeing them, the accused company representatives fled.
The land where the plotting was being done is a submergence area with flood plains, and plotting cannot be done there. The Mant SDM, Indranandan Singh, confirmed that plotting is illegal in the area. The police seized the camp’s chair-table, tent material, a DCM truck, and a four-wheeler, a laptop from the spot. The buyers complained of being cheated and demanded action against the company.
The Revenue Department and police have started investigating the matter. The MVDA Executive Engineer Kaushalendra Chaudhary has lodged a complaint with the police against Imran Khan and a lady Shahruni. The policed has registered a case against the accused.
According to the project brochure, the company had promised to book the plot at 30% and do the registry at 40%. However, residential plotting on flood plains is illegal in the area, and the accused were showing the land as a residential plot to cheat people. The search for the accused is on, and the authorities have seized all the goods from the spot.
The land mafia – mostly a bunch of unscrupulous real estate agents – forms a well organized network to loot cheat people by selling the land to its targets illegally. Many innocent people become their prey by falling in their tap. In this case, Imran, the main accused has network in Gurgaon and Delhi. Many people from the minority community have booked the disputed by making the registration.
The primary investigation revealed that the land which Imran was selling to the people on the Yamuna Flood Plain near Devaraha Baba Ghat wasn’t owned by him.
