Night curfew imposed in Mathura to contain the spread of Covid -19

The District Administration of Mathura has imposed night curfew in the District with immediate effect. The curfew would be in effect from 9 pm to 6 am every day till further orders.

District Magistrate Shri Navneet Singh Chahal said, “This step was necessary to contain the spread of Covid – 19.”

There have been steep rise in positive cases. 171 people found positive and two died during the last 24 hours in Mathura.

 People associated with essential services, panchayat elections, Petrol pump, CNG stations, goods and luggage carriers, large scale construction work will be exempted from curfew.

 People undertaking train and bus journeys have to show their tickets during the curfew hours.

The wholesale trades in Mandis and factories have also been exempted from night curfew.

The decision would affect the devotees who are regular in the Shayan Aarati darshan and Mangala Aarati of different temples. It would also affect the Giriraj Parikram during the night in summer.
