Mathura-Govardhan road will be made one-way for the upcoming Mudiya Mela which will be held from 10 -14 July. Unlike previous years, parking will not be allowed on the route, even though the overall number of facilities will be increased from 42 to 50.
Mathura, 2022-06-04 (Vrindavan Today News): After two years of muted observances, the Police administration is expecting a huge turnout for the Mudiya Mela which is to be held from 10-14 July this year. Traffic management (entry, exit and parking), provision for civic amenities, and removal of encroachment are the top priorities.
In this regard SP (rural) Srishchandra carried out an examination of the entry routes and points to Govardhan along with CO Gaurav Tripathi, SHO Nitin Kasana and station officer Raghavendra Singh on Friday. The idea was to discuss suggestions to regulate traffic, particularly along the Rajasthan border, and identify parking facilities for vehicles.
Unlike previous years, parking will not be allowed on the Mathura-Vrindavan Road even though the overall number of parkings will be increased from 42 to 50. Moreover, the route will be made one-way to support effective traffic surveillance and management. Entry from Sonkh will be restricted.
Suggestions were sought on diverting vehicles from Deeg (Rajasthan) at Gantholi pass to the sait intersection parking and allowing entry from Barsana via Sakitara. Small vehicles are most likely to be directed to park near Babulal Mahvidyalaya at Barsana bypass. Access from Deeg Adda may also be restricted.
Additionally, a temporary e-rickshaw stand will be made near Adeeg Bypass from where devotees can head to Govardhan bypass.
