President Droupadi Murmu Completes Sacred Sojourn in Braj–Vrindavan

2026.03.21 (Vrindavan Today News): In a profound blend of devotion, service, and statesmanship, the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, completed her deeply spiritual journey to the Divine land of Braj – Vrindavan. Revered as the eternal playground of Shri Krishna, Braj continues to inspire devotion and draw seekers from around the world.
Upon her arrival in Braj, the President was warmly received by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, along with state ministers Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary and Sandeep Singh, marking the beginning of a spiritually significant visit.


In a historic first for the region, Droupadi Murmu became the first President of India to stay for two nights in Vrindavan. This extended stay reflected not only her deep personal faith but also a rare and meaningful engagement with the spiritual essence of Braj.
During her visit, the President offered prayers at prominent temples, including the magnificent Prem Mandir and the globally revered Shri Krishna Balaram Mandir (Iskcon). Smt. Murmu was welcomed by the Iskcon Co-presidents Shri Panchagauda Das, Shri Janardan Swami Maharaj and Swami Golokananda Maharaj. Immersed in the divine atmosphere of kirtans and rituals, her presence reflected humility and deep spiritual connection.
A significant highlight of her visit was her interaction with the revered saint Premanand Baba, during ekantik varta, symbolizing a rare confluence of spiritual wisdom and national leadership. She discussed significant topics on spirituality.
The President also visited the serene Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, associated with the great saint Neem Karoli Baba, where she spent moments in reflection and prayer.
Further emphasizing her commitment to public welfare, the President inaugurated a new oncology block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, reinforcing the ideals of compassionate healthcare and dedicated service to humanity. In a touching reflection of compassion and social commitment, the President also visited Vatsalya Gram, established by Sadhvi Ritambhara, an initiative dedicated to the care and upliftment of women and children. Adding further depth to her spiritual journey, she performed the sacred Giriraj Parikrama at Govardhan. During this revered pilgrimage, she offered worship at the Danghati Temple and paid her respects at the sacred waters of Mansi Ganga. She was accompanied by her daughter Smt. Itishree Murmu and grand daughters.

After completing her spiritual engagements in Braj, the President departed for New Delhi from the Paitha helipad in Govardhan, marking the conclusion of her memorable and historic visit.
Devotees and residents of Braj expressed immense joy and pride at hosting the President. More than a ceremonial tour, her journey became a powerful reflection of India’s timeless spiritual heritage—where devotion, service, and leadership walk hand in hand.
As the sacred dust of Braj bore witness to this historic and unprecedented visit, the journey of Droupadi Murmu stands as an inspiring testament to the harmony of faith, service, and public life.
