Security measures stepped up in Barsana for Radhashtami

The crowd needs to be managed carefully on the narrow parts of the stairs, so the pressure of crowd doesn’t cause any untoward incident.

2022.09.03 (Vrindavan Today News): Fresh enthusiasm among the devotees in post covid times has resulted in heavy footfall in all the pilgrimage destinations of Braj. It was the huge crowd at Banke Bihari temple which recently claimed two lives during the Mangala Aarati on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The Mathura Police and District Administration is on high alert to manage the crowd on Radhashtami. Devotees turn out in large numbers at Barsana on Shri Radhashtami. With Radhashtami falling on the week end, the turn out of the devotees is expected to be huge.

Security and safety measures have been stepped up in view of ‘Radha Asthami’ festival to be celebrated on Sunday. The Celebration begins with Mangla Aarti’ at 4am in the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Laadli ji temple.

The crowd needs to be managed carefully on the narrow parts of the stairs, so the pressure of crowd doesn’t cause any untoward incident.

“The core area of the celebration has been divided in 7 zones and 16 sectors. An officer of rank of Additional Superintendent of Police will supervise each zone. CCTV control room has been established within the temple premises to keep a close watch on the events and another control room has been set up at a school premises in Barsana town,” said Abhishek Yadav, SSP Mathura.

“Parking areas have been identified and buses, cars are to be parked there to provide ample space for devotees reach the temple by walking. Around 100 additional buses have been deputed to transport the devotees to the temples,” added Shri Yadav.

The Mathura Police and the District administration have done its home work for a better crowd management this time. The Temple Authorities are in constant touch with the administration for a flawless event.

Shri Ladli ji temple, Rangili Mahal and the entire area has been illuminated on the eve of Shri Radhashtami.
