2025.10.30 (Vrindavan Today News): IAS officer Suraj Patel (Batch 2019) has officially assumed charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad this afternoon. Notably, this marks the first occasion when an official will hold the independent position of CEO, without simultaneously bearing the additional responsibilities of Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority. Previously, the dual charge held by Patel’s predecessors at Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority had adversely affected the timely execution of UPBTVP’s mandated work.

After taking charge, Suraj Patel expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying that serving in Mathura is a great privilege. He stated that he would work in alignment with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to further accelerate the historic developmental works being carried out by the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad in Mathura district.

Patel emphasized that providing maximum facilities to the millions of devotees visiting Mathura is one of the top priorities of the state government. “I will seek suggestions and cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure that every project is implemented effectively and efficiently,” he added.

Before assuming office, the newly appointed CEO offered prayers and sought blessings before the idol of Lord Krishna installed at the Parishad’s office premises. He mentioned that he would review all ongoing projects across the district and make every effort to complete them within the stipulated timelines.

Following his assumption of charge, Suraj Patel also met Vice-Chairman of the Parishad, Shri Shailja Kant Misra, and District Magistrate, Shri C.P. Singh. Later in the day, he visited Vrindavan and took the divine darshan of Thakur Banke Bihari Maharaj.

Originally a resident of Kanpur district, Suraj Patel’s administrative journey is notable. He first qualified for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) in 2016, later joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2017, and finally became an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in 2019. He has previously served as Joint Magistrate in Gonda and Meerut, and as Chief Development Officer (CDO) in Fatehpur and Amethi.

With his appointment, it is expected that the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad will enter a new era of development, fulfilling the government’s vision to make Mathura and Braj region a model of spiritual and infrastructural excellence.
