2023.01.18 (Vrindavan Today News): Mathura, the pilgrimage town, is all set to become an industrial city with the infusion of INR 17000 cr into its economy. The district bagged business proposals worth INR 19000 cr from 160 industrialists during the Investors and Exporters Summit held recently at the Veterinary University. Of these, 140 proposals valued at INR 17507cr were ratified by MoUs. The successful event was chaired by Mathura MP Hema Malini.
Attended by industrialists from Mathura and other cities, the Summit was a brainchild of CM Yogi whose vision of making Uttar Pradesh an industrial hub is well-known. While inaugurating the event, Smt. Hema Malini acknowledged his contribution towards creating a stable and conducive environment for investors in the state. Speaking further, she informed the attendees about the industrial possibilities and potential of Mathura city, and assured them safety and support on behalf of the district administration.
Allaying investors’ apprehensions over TTZ rules and regulations that have, so far, hindered industrial progress in the region, the MP said that the matter has been mooted by her in the parliament, and a positive solution may be expected soon.
MLAs from various constituencies in the district tried to woo investors at the summit with attractive business propositions. While Govardhan representative Meghshyam Singh highlighted the tourist potential of his constituency, Puran Prakash stressed upon the non-competitive environment in Baldeo. Anchoring his investor pitch around connectivity, Maant legislator Rajesh Choudhary spoke about upcoming highway projects that will link Maant-Naujheel to Mathura and Delhi-NCR via Yamuna Expressway. He also played up the upcoming Jewar Airport at half-an-hour’s distance from Maant. Mathura MLA Shrikant Sharma shared his vision of developing Mathura as an industrial region along the highway.
Top ten investors at the Summit were felicitated by MP Hema Malini. The highest-valued investment proposal of INR 5000 cr was put forward by Deepak Kumar of Proxima Metals for a copper and aluminium recycling unit. Karl Mehta of Shristi Group will invest 3000 cr in solar plant business. Arjun Tokas (Omaxe Ltd.) and Kapil Dev (Sarang Holiday Inn and Resort) proposed real estate projects – Omaxe City New Vrindavan and Star Tourism facilities – worth 350 and 300 cr respectively. PepsiCo India holdings will also infuse a fresh amount of 250 cr in its Kosi food plant.
