People engaged in the business will be encouraged to take up dairy-related professions
Vrindavan, 2021-09-01 (Vrindavan Today News): Taking cognizance of Mathura’s religious community’s long-pending demand, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has promised to make Mathura meat and liquor-free.
Addressing a gathering organised at the Mahavidya Ramlila Maidan as part of his Janmashtami visit on 30 August, the CM declared that Mathura will soon be free of the vices of meat and alcohol. He encouraged people engaged in the trade to take up milk and dairy-related occupations, while assuring of them adequate opportunities that will be created in the sector through holistic development initiatives which will ensure Mathura’s all-round economic and technical growth on one hand, and religious and cultural on the other.
During his speech the CM also praised the Vaishnava Kumbh held earlier this year in Vrindavan. He commended the team behind it for making it a grand success, and the next biggest event in the state after Prayagraj Kumbh.
