Mathura, 2022-04-23 (Vrindavan Today News): In keeping with the state government’s directives, Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan Mathura has decided to turn off the loudspeaker installed on the roof of Bhagwat Bhavan which was used to broadcast the morning aarti between 5.30 and 6.30am every day.

Trust secretary Kapil Sharma informed that the decision was taken unanimously following the orders of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath in connection with the use of loudspeakers at religious places. “We have stopped the use of loudspeakers as per the orders of the state government. This decision has been taken to maintain communal harmony here. Soon arrangements will be made to ensure that the sound from the loudspeaker remains within the temple premises only,” said Sharma.

Following certain incidents of communal clashes, on April 21, CM Yogi said that permission would be required to use loudspeakers at religious places, and their sound must not be heard outside the premises. The CM also issued directives against the organizing of religious procession without permission.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, loudspeakers should not be operated after 10 pm and before 6 am and they should be fitted with a ‘sound limiter’. The High Court norms in this regard apply to places of worship, banquet halls as well as DJ operators.
