- Temple Servants Protest Against Illegal Recovery in the Name of VIP Darshan at Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan
2023.04.11 (Vrindavan Today News): In a recent incident at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, temple servants created a ruckus over illegal recovery at the temple office. The temple staff and the Goswami community are upset about the ongoing illegal recovery in the name of VIP darshan at the temple. They claim that some anti-social elements and security personnel are extorting money from devotees and tarnishing the image of the Goswami Samaj and the temple administration.
On Saturday afternoon, after the temple closed, the Goswami community came together and went to the temple management office to express their anger. The temple servants demanded that the illegal charging of money for VIP darshan be stopped immediately. They accused the temple manager Munish Sharma and outpost incharge Rajkumar of taking random amounts of money from devotees for VIP darshan.
According to Himanshu Goswami, a Sevayat of the temple, some people were gaining entry into the temple by paying money, which is unethical and hurting the sentiments of the devotees. He further stated that this act is also tarnishing the image of both the Goswami Samaj and the temple administration.
Raju Goswami, a temple Sevayat, echoed the concerns of the temple staff and the Goswami community, stating that all the Goswamis were worried and unable to give darshan to their followers. He also mentioned that some people were even bringing in the visitors in collusion with the insiders, which is further damaging the temple’s reputation.
Chowki incharge Rajkumar has assured the Goswami community that the temple administration will investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the anti-social elements and VIP philosophy. New arrangements will also be made for the worship by the Goswamis and their followers, and entry inside the temple will only be granted after the information is made available by the Goswamis.
The incident at the Banke Bihari temple highlights the need for stricter regulations and monitoring to prevent illegal recovery in the name of VIP darshan at temples. The temple staff and the Goswami community’s unity is commendable in this matter, and their efforts to safeguard the temple’s image and protect devotees’ sentiments must be supported.
