Acting receiver of Barsana’s Ladliji temple booked for theft

Four people, including acting receiver, booked for theft at Ladli ji temple in Barsana

2023.04.06 (Vrindavan Today News): In a recent development in the Ladliji temple dispute, Barsana police have registered a case of theft against four individuals, including the officiating receiver, on the orders of the Civil Judge Junior Division. The case relates to the breaking of the donation box in Ladliji temple.

The dispute over opening the donation box at the temple had escalated on the night of March 20, leading to a disagreement between temple sevayat Bhagwan Das Goswami and co-receiver Rasbihari Goswami. The Barsana police had also reached the temple premises at the time.

Rasik Mohan Goswami, a resident of the town, subsequently filed a complaint with the Civil Judge Junior Division against Co-Receiver Rasbihari Goswami, Sridama Goswami, Dhruvesh Goswami, and Pawan Bhatt, all residents of Barsana. The complaint alleged that the four individuals had broken the donation box and stolen money from it. The court ordered the Barsana police to take appropriate action.

On Tuesday night, Barsana police registered a case of theft against all four of them. Co-receiver Rasbihari Goswami claimed that he had been appointed acting receiver of Ladliji temple on the orders of Additional District Judge III. He stated that he had gone to open the donation box to pay the salary of the employees posted at the temple. However, he was met with resistance from present temple servicemen and their supporters when they were not given a share in the money recovered from the donation box.

Station in-charge Inspector Pramod Panwar confirmed that the investigation into the matter is ongoing. The situation remains tense, and appropriate measures are being taken to maintain the peace and integrity of the temple.
