Advisory to refrain from visiting Vrindavan on New Year

2023.12.30 (Vrindavan Today News): Concerns loom large managing the huge influx of devotees visiting Vrindavan to begin their New Year with the darshan of the Lordships of Vrindavan. More than two millions devotees are being expected to visit Vrindavan in next few days.

Mindful of the tragic deaths of two women last Sunday near Banke Bihari Temple, the District Administration and the Banke Bihari Temple Management have advised the devotees to refrain from visiting Vrindavan for next few days. The District Magistrate of Mathura Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh has made an appeal to the visitors not to bring the children, elderly and those unwell in those peak days from Saturday onwards.

Crowd at Banke Bihari Temple

Anticipating the arrival of over 2 million devotees from December 30th to January 5th for darshan of Banke Bihari and other temples of Vrindavan, the influx of devotees from across the nation has already commenced since Friday. With approaching weekend, the crowds are expected to swell further, especially during the eve of the New Year. January 1st will witness a surge of devotees seeking to embrace the beginning of the year with the auspicious darshan of Thakur ji.

In light of this, the Banke Bihari temple administration has advised devotees against bringing along children, the elderly, and individuals with heath issues.

Moreover, to ensure safety and convenience, an additional 50 security guards have been deployed. The police have set up barricades to control heavy vehicular traffic on entry routes.
