The president of Agra Jama Masjid (Mantola) threatened to kill Mahednra Pratap in a viral audio
Vrindavan, 2022-06-05 (Vrindavan Today News): Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi Mukti Nyas president and chief counsel in Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi-Idgah case, Mahendra Pratap Singh has received death threat from Agra Jama Masjid’s (Mantola) president Zahid Qureshi via a audio that went viral on Friday.
FIRs were filed against Qureshi alias Pappu in Mantola and Vrindavan Police Stations for inciting communal hatred through inflammatory speech and issuing death threats.
On Friday, Mahendra Pratap received two viral audio clips wherein Qureshi was making inflammatory remarks and threatening to kill him if he dared to enter the mosque. In the clip the latter is heard inciting Muslims to act violently against anyone who tries to defile the mosque.
The development comes in the wake of Singh’s demand to carry out excavations at the Agra mosque based on the claim that the original ‘vigraha’ of Shri Keshav Dev is buried under its steps. “Aurangzeb demolished the Thakur Keshav Dev Ji temple in 1670 and buried the main ‘vigraha’ either under the stairs of Begum Sahiba Qudsia Begum Mosque or the Jama Masjid so that Muslims can trample the deities for centuries,” Singh told the media.
The remarks made by Qureshi in the audio clip were in response to Singh’s demand. An FIR was filed against him in Mantola Police Station after it went viral on Friday. The following day, Mahendra Pratap lodged another complaint in Vrindavan Police Station. SHO Ajay Kaushal informed that details of the case have been entered in the GD.
