‘Saanjhi’ Celebration at Vrindavan Research Institute

It is an opportunity for the artists to demonstrate their skill and finesse and also to enlighten the students about the importance and relevance of Saanjhi as a regional art within the domain of cultural heritage.

2022.09.16 (Vrindavan Today News): Ten days long ‘Saanjhi Mahotsava’ was inaugurated at the Vrindavan Research Institute on Friday.  Acharya Shrivatsa Goswami inaugurated the Exhibition on the ‘ Saanjhi folk art’. He also inaugurated the workshop on ‘Saanjhi: A traditional folk art and its outreach’ in presence of several dignitaries.

Shri Rajesh Sharma, the convener of the event said, “The objective of organizing the ten daylong ‘Celebration’ was to promote the traditional folk art of Braj-Vrindavan among the students of different schools participating in the event. ” “This event will give an opportunity for the artists to demonstrate their skill and finesse and also to enlighten the students about the importance and relevance of Saanjhi as a regional art within the domain of cultural heritage,” added Shri Sharma.

The Saanjhi artists Shri Bibhu Krishna Bhatt from ‘Bhatt ji Mandir’ and Shri Sumit Goswami from Shri Radharaman Mandir interacted with the students and told them about the different aspects of Saanjhi art as practiced in the temples of Braj. They also demonstrated their skills by making the ‘Saanjhi’ with color, water and flowers.

Swami Maheshananda Saraswati, Smt. Anagha Shrinivasan, CEO of Shri Rangji Mandir; Shri Krantishekhar Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Shri Manoj Mohan Shastri, Shri Suresh Chandra Sharma, Dr. Chandra Prakash Sharma, DR. Govind Krishna Pathak and other dignitaries addressed the event.

Shri Radha Krishna Pathak and Shri Hit Sukrit Lal Goswami honored the guests on behalf of the Vrindavan Research Institute.

The students of Kanha Makhan School,  Venu Unique Junior Public School, Amarnath Girls Degree College, Satya Devi Garg Shishu Mandir, Heritage Public School, Bon Maharaj institute of Technology and management participated in the training workshop.
