Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy to be established at Chandra Sarovar

  • The office building of the academy has been built at Chandra Sarovar (Parsoauli)., that is regarded as the meditative abode of Surdas.
  • An interpretation centre and a library has also been set up alongside the office building

2024.02.27 (Vrindavan Today News): The Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy, aimed at the advancement and contemporary research of Braj language, will soon be established. Its office has already been built at Chandra Sarovar, in Parsoauli, Govardhan. The proposed academy’s office includes a library and an Interpretation Center. The state government, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) has outlined plans to establish the academy within 10 days.

A meeting chaired by the Additional Principal Secretary (language), Shri Jitendra Kumar, was held in Lucknow regarding the establishment of the Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy. Nagendra Pratap, the CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, also attended the meeting.

Earlier, Vice Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, Shri Shailjakant Mishra, had written a letter to inform the Additional Principal Secretary that the government had issued a notification to establish the Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy, last year. It was only after the notification, the academy’s office was built at Chandra Sarovar, Govardhan.

Alongside the office building, facilities such as a library, canteen, and Interpretation Center have also been set up under the Prasad Scheme. The operational framework for the Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy now requires to be established.

Nagendra Pratap, CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, informed during the meeting that the establishment of the Surdas Braj Bhasha Academy will be completed within the next 10 days. Subsequently, formal operations will commence.
